On January 28, the world’s largest 3000HP oil-electric hybrid locomotive and 5000HP dual-fuel diesel locomotive appeared in CSR Ziyang Company, and this is an important achievement for the development of the world diesel locomotive toward the new energy field.
As we all know, the high-speed train has been electrically drawn, but domestically, by the end of 2014, the length of non-electric railway still had been more than 60,000km, accounting for 50%, and the traction power is still dominated by the diesel locomotive. In order to further promote the energy saving and emission-reduction technology of non-electric railway, CSR Ziyang Company have carried out 5 years’ research with the overall planning and guidance of China Railway Corporation and launched the two types of new energy locomotive of technical verification type with complete system integration ranking the world leading level.
Both the two energy locomotives adopt the world advanced AC drive technology, with the highlighted characteristics of low fuel consumption, emission, noise and cost. On the same day, Rizhao Port, Zhanjiang Port and CSR Ziyang Company signed the strategic cooperation agreement.
According to Ye Dingkang, vice chief engineer of CSR Ziyang Company, the oil-electric hybrid locomotive is powered by diesel engine and large-capacity battery park and its large characteristics are energy saving and emission reduction. According to the actual test, when the ground charging condition is not met, the locomotive can save fuel by 40%; when the ground discharging condition is met, it can reduce 90% of the fuel consumption at most. One year's operation of 100 oil-electric hybrid locomotive will reduce the consumption of 43100t standard coal, with quite a significant economic benefit. In terms of the pollutant reduction, it can reduce the emission of harmful substances like sulfide, carbide and particles by 60%-90%, reaching the American EPA Tier 3 standard.
In addition, this type of locomotive is also more humanized in work environment. Compared with the traditional diesel locomotive, the total noise can be reduced by above 80%, and the repair and maintenance cycle of the locomotive can be extended by one time, and the total lifecycle cost of the complete locomotive can reduce by about 30%. The new locomotive also has the function of cyclic energy use, and the 2800KW electric braking power can all be used for the rapid charging of the locomotive power battery, so as to achieve the recovery and reuse of the braking energy.
In order to lay a foundation for the 3000HP oil-electric hybrid locomotive, CSR Ziyang Company also researched and manufactured the 1000KW oil-electric hybrid locomotive, which was subject to nearly one year's test verification in Rizhao Iron &Steel Co., Ltd., with a significant effect of energy saving and emission reduction, and won the "Technical Invention Award for Energy Saving and Emission Reduction" issued by China Energy Conservation Association in December 2014. The 3000HP locomotive researched and manufactured is the "upgraded version" of this type of locomotive, which is mainly used for the dispatching of railway yard, and can replace the existing traditional diesel locomotive. At present, CSR Ziyang Company has formed a technical platform and product platform of hybrid locomotive, and can launch products of different power levels ranging from 300 to 3000KW to meet the demands of different users.
The dual-fuel locomotive launched on the same day is the world's largest locomotive with liquidized natural gas (LNG) clean energy as the main fuel for the first time. This locomotive applies to the traction of trunk cargo transportation, when the engine is fueled with LNG gas source, the fuel replacement rate can be up to 85%, achieve the "three-level jumping" from "coal burning" to "fuel burning" and then to "gas burning". Compared with the pure diesel locomotive of the same power, the duel-fuel locomotive can reduce the emission of sulfide by 80%, nitric oxide by 25% and particles by 90%, with a significant emission reduction effect. At the same time, the LNG gasification uses the residual heat of the engine, which can reduce the auxiliary power consumption of the locomotive by about 5%, and improve the locomotive work efficiency.
It is understood in the press conference, the significant green and environment-friendly characteristics and excellent traction performance of the two locomotives were widely concerned by the railway bureau, industrial and mining enterprise and metro users etc.
