Foreign investors to bid for Moscow-Kazan high-speed rail line
 
China's state-owned China Railway plans to take part in the tender for the design of Moscow-Kazan high-speed rail line, Russia’s first high-speed rail line, according to RZD.
 
Several days ago RZD announced a tender for the selection of a designer of the new rail line. All the works must be completed in 2015-2016. The initial (maximum) price is 20.79 billion rubles (US$600 million). Applications will be accepted until April 16, while the results of the tender will be announced on April 27th .
 
In addition to China Railway, an interest to the participation in the tender has been annouced by the private Spanish engineering and construction company SENER.
