Indian Ambassador Kantha: Railway cooperation will be the focus of future cooperation between the two countries
2015-01-19Indian Ambassador Kantha stressed that the railway cooperation would be the focus of the Sino-Indian cooperation in the future during a media interview.
Kantha introduced that government led by Prime Minister Modi of India was committed to improve the infrastructure construction, they admired China’s achievements in infrastructure construction, China had the world's largest national high-speed rail network over the past decade.
Kantha also mentioned that two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on high-speed railway cooperation when President Xi Jinping's visited to India, these plans were implemented. On December 15, India started the first stage of heavy-haul railway transport technology training in Beijing Jiaotong University, also agreed China to start the first section of the feasibility study. The next step after that, India will follow up according to the results. Railway cooperation will be the focus of future cooperation between the two countries.
