Construction for the much-concerned Jinhua-Ningbo railway kicked off in Fenghua, Ningbo province on December 29, 2016, which marked the initiation of the construction of Zhejiang Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan Open Corridor.

  Jinhua-Ningbo railway originates from Jinhua station in the west where it is connected to Shanghai-Kunming and other HSR lines, bypasses Jinhua, Yiwu, and Shaoxing, and ends at Ningbo station where it is connected to Hangzhou-Shenzhen railway, Hangzhou-Ningbo HSR and Ningbo North Loop Line. With a total length of 257.67km and a designed speed of 160km/h, this first-class double-track mixed railway is designed to be able to operate trains at 200km/h if needed, having Yunlong, Fenghua, Xikou, Xinchang, Nanshanhu and other 5 stations along side.
