With a total length of 401km and a designed speed of 250km/h, Baoji-Lanzhou PDL originates from Baoji, Shaanxi province, and terminates at Lanzhou, Gansu province. There are as many as 12 tunnels with a total length of 39.9km on the 45.9km-long Shaanxi section, including the 4926m Tashaocun tunnel. Given that, the project faces great pressure in terms of engineering difficulties and tight schedule.
