Three pairs of high speed trains will run between Xiamen and Hong Kong daily for the first time from this September as part of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed network, Xiamen Daily reported on May 17.

The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed trains run along the 26-kilometer Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, an extension of the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway.

A total of 127 pairs of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high speed trains are expected to be dispatched every day at the beginning of the operation, three pairs of which will reach Xiamen.

It will take between four hours and four hours and 30 minutes for passengers to arrive in Hong Kong from Xiamen.

Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Wuhan, Kunming and other important cities will also be reachable through the newly-opened railway.

Some 28 ticket counters will be established at West Kowloon station in Hong Kong, five of which will be reserved for passengers not taking Hong Kong as their departure or terminal station, according to Hong Kong's Mass Transit Railway Corporation.

In addition, passengers can clear customs for entering both the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong after arriving at West Kowloon station.
