A woman was recently fined for her misconduct on Shanghai Metro Line 2, which caused a 9-minute delay in operations, Shanghai metro police reported Thursday.

On Monday afternoon, a woman surnamed Deng kept a carriage door open with her hands while the metro stopped at Guanglan Road station. She claimed that her mobile phone had been stolen.

Deng was fined by metro police for disturbing public order and later regretted her actions. Police took up her case to help her look for her phone.

Authorities warn that metro is public transportation, which nobody is allowed to disturb for personal reasons. Accidents and incidents should instead be reported to hot line 110 for help.
