With the peak summer travel season approaching, China railway Shenyang group, based in Shenyang, Liaoning province, plans to operate an extra 133 temporary train services to cope with the extra demand, according to a new railway operation plan launched on July 1.

In total, the group plans to operate 795 train services over the busy summer travel period.

With the tourist season in mind, the company will also operate special train services to key tourist destinations, including from Dalian to Aershan, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, from Changchun, Jilin province to Hailaar, Inner Mongolia, and from Dandong to Huuliin Hol, Inner Mongolia.

In addition, new services will be available on trains, including karaoke machines on select services.

The company is also focused on making the purchasing of tickets easier and more convenient for passengers, with a total of 835 automatic ticket machines available for use, and new delivery options for schools and rural communities in areas such as Shenyang, Dalian and Changchun.

The group expects to transport 48 million passengers during the summer travel period, with a daily average of 774,000 passengers.
