Local railway police solved 24 criminal cases and arrested 10 people who were involved in scalping tickets for the upcoming New Year's holiday and Chinese lunar new year travel period, Laodong Daily reported Wednesday.

Railway police recently launched a 90-day crackdown on ticket scalpers to maintain passenger order, with large railway stations as its main targets. The police will use new measures such as personal digital assistants, video monitors and big data to bust ticket scalping and counterfeiting.

Ticket checking and patrolling around stations will also be reinforced. Moreover, police will determine illegal behavior after collecting online intelligence information about ticket purchases and usage. More police will be deployed on high-speed railway routes to investigate and punish illegal behavior.
