China's railway transport steadily rises in April

China's railway passenger and cargo transport steadily expanded in April, according the China Railway Corporation (CRC).
The number of passenger trips reached 295 million, up 4 percent year on year. The cargo transport amounted to 266 million tonnes, up 10 percent year on year, with the daily freight volume averaging 8.87 million tonnes.
About 188 million passenger trips were handled by high-speed trains, up 8.9 percent year on year.
From April 10, a new train working diagram was put to use, making the country's passenger transport services more easily available.
China's railway network handled 1.13 billion passenger trips from January to April, up 7.4 percent year on year.
