A total of 145 projects with an investment of 189.2 billion yuan ($26.74 billion) in Hechi have been included in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region's implementation plan on infrastructure construction.

Transportation network construction

Hechi will push forward 57 key transportation projects. The city will focus on promoting the construction of the high-speed railway from Guiyang to Nanning, striving to have it completed and opened to traffic by 2022. It will accelerate the construction of highways connecting the western Land-sea Trade Corridor and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with highway mileage exceeding 800 kilometers by 2022.

A total of 41 second-level (or third-level) road projects with a total mileage of 961.18 km will be rebuilt and are expected to be opened to traffic before the end of 2021. The city will also make efforts in the implementation of the inland river lock renovation and expansion, as well as the opening of the inland waterway of Hongshui River.

Energy network construction

There are 32 planned construction projects in the city, including the landscape reconstruction and hydropower project of the Longjiang River, continuation of the construction of three wind power projects, as welll as new urban household waste incineration power generation projects.

Information network construction

Hechi has planed to complete 50 digital projects. It will build 77,000 new 4G base stations in the city, as well as more than 5,000 5G base stations covering urban areas and key areas in counties and towns with no less than 950,000 5G users.

Logistics network construction

Hechi will accelerate integration into the western Land-sea Trade Corridor, the construction of logistics bases, such as Jinchengjiang, Nandan, Yizhou, and Du’an, as well as the development of logistics nodes in other counties to enhance the city’s logistics service capabilities. It will also promote the construction of logistics stations, inland ports, and high-speed railway logistics parks.

Underground pipe network construction

Hechi will build and renovate its underground pipe network in three years, completing a sewage pipe network of about 420 km, a rainwater pipe network of about 237 km, a water supply pipe network of about 292 km, and a gas pipe network of about 488 km.
