Pakistan with its strategic geographical location has gained worldwide recognition as a trade corridor linking vital regions of South, Central and West Asia. In order to gain maximum advantage of its ideal location, the country has been developing its transportation networks and around 100 million tons of cargo is currently being handled.
The Government of Pakistan and the World Bank are pursuing developments in this sector to bring efficiency in the transportation sector to facilitate domestic trade and transport in the global supply chain. National Trade Corridor Program has been initiated in an effort to link Pakistan with its neighboring countries to enhance transit trade competitiveness and the country’s industrialization. Major initiatives are also being taken to propagate the use of multimodal transport for connecting markets and people.
INTERTRANS PAKISTAN- PAKISTAN'S 1st MULTI-MODAL INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE will be held in Karachi from 12-15 January 2012.
