In December 15, CSR release to the public that, it had obtained a new overseas order valuing RMB1.7 billion from Argentina for supply of locomotives and freight trains for reconstruction of Belgrano Line.
China Mechanical Equipment Engineering Company won the EPC for reconstruction of Belgrano Line as part of railway network reconstruction project in this country. For this project required are 100 locomotives and 3,500 freight trains of various types. CSR will supply wide-gage and meter-gage locomotives in a sum of 80, as well as more than 2,000 mineral/grain hopper trucks and platform wagons.
As an important supplier for railway market in Argentina, CSR has supplied diesel locomotives to this country as early as in 2003, and successively won two orders for inter-city EMUs totaling 709 cars from this country. In July 21, 2014, the first batch of EMUs were delivered and put into operation. Their quality and operation performance have won good reputation around the railway market in Argentina.
