On February 2 (the sixth day of the first month of the lunar new year), national railways transported 10.966 million passengers, up 632,000, or 6.1%, compared with the same time of last year. The total ridership of national railways during Spring Festival Travel Season amounted to 51.993 million, an increase of 4.216m (8.8%) over last year. Both daily & total train ridership during the travel season set new records, when safety and good order of railway transport are also secured.

  On February 2, Shanghai Railway Administration transported 1.78 million passengers, an increase of 151,000, or 9.3%, over last year; Guangzhou Railway Group transported 1.406m passengers, an increase of 94,000 (7.2%) over last year; Chengdu Railway Administration transported 1.022 million passengers, an increase of 80,000 or 8.5%, over last year; Nanchang Railway Administration transported 903,000 passengers, an increase of 66,000 passengers (7.9%) over last year.

  On February 2, national railways sold 9.721m train tickets, including 6.843m sold on internet (5.083m sold through mobile app), which accounts for 70.4% of the total.
