 Recently, special Train No. 34502, carrying 208 metric tons of bananas, pulled out from Fangchenggang Station in Guangxi. This is the first special train to carried fruit and vegetable from this station to Beijing.

  In mid-August, the railway department combined the special train carrying fruit with the special train carrying cold-chain sea foods for a test run and successfully delivered fruit to Beijing. “Railway refrigerated containers with diesel-electric hybrid system save 75% of the transportation costs,” said a person-in-charge of Guangxi Tieshengyang International Logistics Co., Ltd.. Currently, the company delivers 1,500 metric tons of fruits every month from Fangchenggang Station. It also plans to set up an office in Fangchenggang to sell fruits and vegetables from Guangxi Province and ASEAN countries to the rest of China as soon as possible.
