India and France have signed an agreement under which the latter will provide a grant of up to 700,000 Euros (around 792,144 U.S. dollars) for the development of the railway stations in India.

The tripartite agreement was signed between the Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC), the French National Railways and the French Development Agency on June 10, a statement by the Ministry of Railways stated.

Under this agreement, the French Development Agency would provide in-kind grant financing to support the Railway Station Development Program in India, it said.

This will impose no financial liability on the IRSDC or the Indian Railways, the statement said.
